Katie and Eric are one of our spring couples who had to reschedule their 2020 wedding. Now, they’ll celebrate with all of their loved ones at Alderbrook Spa and Resort in May of 2021. Despite rescheduling, they decided to still get married this year and save the larger celebration for next year. Their intimate backyard wedding in Seattle was filled with so much joy that Michael and I spent the whole time smiling behind our face masks! Did you know that Katie and Eric dated for almost all of high school and found their way back to each other 3 years ago? Isn’t it funny how fate brings people who are meant to be back together? Katie and Eric are a perfect example of that. Want to learn more about their love story? Check out the blog post from their adorable engagement session at the Seattle Yacht Club!

Intimate Backyard Wedding in Seattle
Surrounded by their closest family, friends, and adorable pup, Katie and Eric exchanged vows on what was a rainy, PNW day. Leading up to their wedding, Katie was most looking forward to hearing the vows Eric wrote. His vows did not disappoint! The most memorable part of their day for Michael and me was definitely listening to the speeches from both of their parents. One thing that stuck out the most was from Katie’s father, Kip. He shared what advice he was given on his wedding day: the idea that a marriage is about giving 60% and expecting 40% from your partner.
Usually we hear the version of this marriage advice that says both partners should give 100% each to make a marriage work, but I prefer the idea that suggests that I need to expect more work on my part to make my marriage work. I think we can apply this sort of thinking to all of our relationships and be the happier for it!
Katie + Eric’s Wedding Highlight Film
We have a fun bonus with today’s blog post, too! Katie and Eric were sweet enough to let Michael practice making a wedding highlight film for them. If you haven’t seen it yet, then HERE is the link to their wedding video!
Enjoy looking through some of my favorite images from Katie and Eric’s intimate backyard wedding in Seattle. You’ll definitely see MR. and MRS. LEDBETTER (!!!) again in 2021!
XOXO,
Stormy
Can you see how hard it was raining during the ceremony? That “I just married my best friend” smile Friends surprised the newlyweds with a car parade! How sweet! Katie made this cake from scratch! Wow! Can’t forget a photo with my Stormy Bride and Groom! <3

Stormy, not only did you capture the intimate feelings and emotions of the day, you also caught the genuine love between Katie and Eric. There was such a comradery between us all because of the enviromental restrictions and rain, which helped solidify our support and love for the two of them, and each other, including Greta the pup! It was a magical day and now we have the picture memories to keep it forever!
Beautiful day! So happy for you guys. Thank you for sharing your pics. Love, Peggy, Hank and Penka
