Today on the SP Blog, I’m sharing some of my favorite photos from Jenn + David’s engagement session on Sunday in Seattle. One of the many things that I love about being an engagement photographer is hearing all of the different love stories from my #stormybrides!
One of the sweetest things I’ve ever heard is how David knew that Jenn was the life partner he’d been looking for before their first date! Seeing the way they interacted during their session really made my heart melt. Jenn + David are clearly in love. They were both so affectionate and playful toward each other. That made my job incredibly easy. There were even a few instances where I could just snap a photo and capture a cute moment without them knowing. That kind of thing is not possible with Michael and me getting our photos taken. We’re both double chin laughers and silly face makers 😛
Our Session Together
We started this sweet engagement session by recreating David’s proposal. Coincidentally, Jenn was wearing the same white dress from the actual day he proposed. They also brought the same ring box, which is notable because Jenn was so impressed by the fact it had a light inside that she told me all about it the first time we met! Since this was my first time at Olympic Sculpture Park, Michael and I arrived early to get a sense of where would be best for photos. The intimate pathway and stone steps we decided on made for some dreamy photos!
After an outfit change, we all made our way down to the waterfront for golden hour. Jenn + David looked elegant as ever and really “popped” out of the light colored beach. As the sun continued to set, the colors of the sky danced along the water and we finished this session with Jenn + David hopping in the cold water for a final, dramatic shot!
Jenn + David are so much fun to be around and we can’t wait to see them again at their upcoming wedding at Kirkland Heritage Hall! Congratulations, you two 🙂
