The SP Blog is taking you all back to Renton for a Clark Lake engagement session! This session also marks the first time I’ve ever driven in rush hour traffic and man was I flustered! Like, visibly flustered with red splotches all over my pale face… So, the funny thing about this location is I like to think it’s a hidden gem. It’s probably not, but at least it’s relatively private and I’m likely the only photographer there 😛 I was at Clark Lake Park back in the summer for an adorable maternity session and actually reached out to these new parents for the inside scoop of what the park looked like right now since they go there often. If you’re reading this Erin + Paul, you two are the best 🙂
Jessica + Ben | Clark Lake Park Engagement Session
Jessica and I first met at my favorite biscuit place in Seattle and bonded over a sugar free vanilla latte and a chai tea latte. I remember listening to her talk about how Ben and she met and ultimately fell in love. To me, Jessica is one of those people where you can just see the kindness in her eyes. Hearing her talk about Ben made me so excited to meet him because it was so clear how much she loved him and she knew that he deeply loved her back.
Jessica picked the perfect colors for their outfits. Combined with the warm glow of the setting sun, these photos looked like they came straight out of a dream <3 It was a perfect day to illustrate the love between these two! Ben told me near the end of our session together how much he normally hates having his photo taken, but our time together was a lot less painful than he expected. He didn’t have to guess where to put his hands or where he should be looking. He didn’t have to wonder if he looked “awkward” either. When you’re with me, you know that we’re going to have a hell of a time and you’re going to love how you look in the photos I take. I gotchu, boo.
Jessica + Ben, I’m so excited to photograph your wedding at Black Diamond Gardens next May, but in the meanwhile, enjoy every moment of being engaged 🙂 Miss you both already!
