Today, I’m taking you all to one of my favorite locations to shoot: Green Lake Park in Seattle for this sweet family session. Something about the water and the way the golden hour light pours through the trees makes me so giddy whenever I schedule a session here.

I find all family sessions to be special whether there’s an occasion attached to it or not. I come from a family with a lot of siblings and I remember visiting my mom and going through all of the prints from the disposable cameras that captured my childhood. It breaks my heart that my mother’s roommate would eventually throw all of those photos away, especially since my older brother had passed away and we don’t have many photos of him anymore.

Times have obviously changed since then and digital photography has made it easier to protect images for a long time. I think back to all of the memories with my sister and brothers and I get so much joy out of photographing families where they can look back at these photos and reminisce on a time that always seems to have gone by too quickly.

Lauren and Corinne were a dream to photograph. Corinne has a deep admiration for her older sister and that shines through in these photos. Lauren is incredibly gorgeous inside and out and she helped pick out Corinne’s outfit, as all good sisters do! We were even able to sneak in Mom + Dad toward the end 🙂
