With spring just around the corner, I wanted to share my top three favorite Seattle spring photo locations! Something about the colorful, blooming flowers and sunny days after a gloomy PNW winter brings me joy. I can’t be the only one who feels that way! I was actually just at Lowe’s the other day and picked out some flower seeds to grow in our garden this spring. I grabbed Shirley double poppies (who doesn’t love poppies?!?) and columbines to remind me of back home. (Columbines are the Colorado state flower.) Having our new home with the possibility of a garden is SO exciting. I plan to plant as many flowers as I can in our backyard and I’m pretty sure Michael will expand his herb garden. He might even start a vegetable and/or fruit garden; who knows?! Stay tuned for that!

Mount Vernon’s Tulip Festival
Every spring, the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival welcomes visitors to their endless rows and rows of mulit-colored tulips! In 2021, the festival runs throughout the month of April. The fields are typically very crowded, but for my photographer friends, they offer a $100 day pass to have access to the tulips during both golden hours and their normal business hours. Otherwise, general admission is $10 per person over 12 years old!

Kirkland’s Heritage Park
Right on Kirkland’s waterfront is Heritage Hall and it’s adjoining park, Heritage Hall features flowers in its back garden and along the side of the building. Coupled with the white columns of the hall and Lake Washington, Heritage Park is an ideal location for a TON of variety all in one place!
University of Washington at Seattle
If you know me, then you know that I LOVE the cherry blossom festival in the quad at UW Seattle! Michael and I did our undergrad at UW and made it a tradition to go each year for photos and to enjoy the blossoms. It gets very crowded at this location so if you intend to go for photos, then try a weekday morning. We are offering our annual cherry blossom mini sessions on April 3rd during peak bloom; click here to book your time slot before they are all gone!
