I’m so excited to share highlights from Thuy and Alex’s North Bend engagement session. One of the most beautiful places in Washington is North Bend, especially when Mount Si is part of the scenery. Pair the mountain view with a whimsical field; you’ve got the perfect location for all those romantic vibes!
Thuy and Alex are high school sweethearts and have been together for an amazing ten years! That high school sweetheart kind of love is unique to other loves because you’ve grown up together; you have experienced the awkward teen stage, college, and moving on to start your adult life together. Thuy and Alex initially met through their church youth group when they volunteered at a retirement home. Two weeks later, they started dating, and the rest is history!
Alex knew he wanted to propose to Thuy in a very intimate and sentimental way. Insert Thuy’s best friend, Jenny, who took her out of the house so he could get to work creating a proposal surprise for Thuy. Alex decorated her room with pictures of them from the beginning of their relationship and balloons. But that’s not all; the actual proposal took place at the Woodland Park Rose Garden’s gazebo. With the help of friends, Alex decorated the gazebo with string lights, candles, and rose petals. When Thuy arrived at the gazebo, it was a mesmerizing, intimate, and emotional moment. Alex had an envelope for her to open, and at the end of one of the letters, it said “press play.” When she did, a rendition of Elvis’‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You started playing, and Alex got down on one knee to propose! Isn’t that the sweetest and most thoughtful way to propose?!?
During their North Bend engagement session, Thuy and Alex laughed, danced, and played with their pup, Remy. Michael and I were dying to meet their corgi fur baby as soon as they mentioned Remy. We are big fans of incorporating fur babies into your engagement session! There were so many sweet and fun candid moments from their session, and I’m sharing all of my favorites below.
Thank you, Thuy and Alex, for trusting me to capture this special time of your engagement; I can’t wait to capture your July wedding at Sacred Heart Parish in Clyde Hill and China Harbor reception in Seattle!
XOXO, Stormy
