Katie + Robert | Romantic Picnic Engagement Session

Today I’ll be sharing some my favorite images from Katie and Robert’s romantic picnic engagement session in Seattle from last weekend. Ever so often, Michael and I are lucky enough to photograph a fellow photographer’s love story. When Katie and I first met over video, of course we connected over a mutual love for photography and bright, timeless images. Getting to know each other better through that video call, I found Katie to be hilarious and enjoyed seeing her laidback personality. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: funny people are my favorite people! One of the cornerstones of our business is creating and maintaining meaningful relationships with couples that we could see ourselves being friends with outside of taking their photos. We are so lucky that we crossed paths with such fun people like Katie and Robert who instantly feel like friends!

Romantic Picnic Engagement Photos at Discovery Park

Fast forward to Katie and Robert’s engagement session at Seattle’s Discovery Park. Katie initially wanted to have her session in the cafe where she and Robert had their first date over in Oak Harbor. For COVID reasons, we opted for a fall session outdoors at one of Seattle’s prettiest parks. Katie took her photos to the next level by styling a romantic picnic set up for Robert and her. Incorporating their wedding colors, she had a red blanket and a classic picnic basket with food, candles, and champagne! The finishing touch of eucalyptus created a romantic picnic scene. We ended their engagement session with fun, champagne popping photos. If you’re ever thinking of a simple way to add something fun to your engagement photos, then champagne is always a good idea. I’m still laughing over all of the funny reactions we captured of the champagne pop!

Keep scrolling to see some of my favorites from this picnic engagement session. I had a difficult time narrowing down the number of photos for this post, but once you see Katie’s picnic set up and ring, you’ll understand why! These cuties are getting married next year at Whidbey Golf Club!

XOXO,

Stormy (& Michael)
