A couple of weekends ago, I flew to California to photograph Lindsay and Matt’s engagement session in Santa Monica. Right before the world was turned upside down by COVID, Lindsay and Matt were matched together by a dating app. Matt’s friends helped him set up his profile and this was his first online date through the app! The two had their first date in a coffee date and quickly knew how excited they were about each other. Fast forward to a day of riding bikes together followed by a normal evening activity of walking down to the beach from Palisades Park in Santa Monica. Next thing Lindsay knew, Matt was down on one knee in the sand right as the sun was setting across the water. What a perfect surprise and beautiful setting for a proposal!
Since Lindsay and Matt are both from Washington, it made sense to have their wedding here where their families live. They chose one of the most romantic and dreamy wedding venues in the area: Woodinville Lavender for their ceremony, too. When I had my first consultation over the phone with Lindsay and Matt, we talked about the possibility of having their engagement session in Santa Monica. I was ecstatic when we made it happen! We started their session at Palisades Park with all the palm trees and greenery. From there, we made our way down to the Santa Monica’s beach. We were lucky for golden light paired with faint cotton candy skies after the sun went behind the horizon. Lindsay and Matt’s Santa Monica engagement session really showcases the natural affection and joy these two have for each other. We are so excited for their wedding day!!!
XOXO,
Stormy
