What Every Bride Needs on Her Wedding Day | Stormy Bride Tips

If you’re like me, then you probably spent some time thinking about what could possibly go wrong on your wedding day and how to prevent those events. Having some sort of wedding day emergency kit is what every bride needs on her wedding day to minimize what could take away from the joy of her wedding. That’s why I highly recommend the “Minimergency Kit for Brides” by Pinch Provisions for every bride on her wedding day.

Before I dive in, this emergency kit can definitely be a DIY project. Unless you already have these items and a small, convenient way to carry them, then I don’t recommend the DIY route. You’ll likely spend unnecessary time shopping for everything when you could use that time for some R&R with your fiancé. As someone who was on an extremely tight wedding budget, I actually purchased this little kit for our wedding day and one for Michael, too! Pinch Provisions has added some new items to their kit since I got mine, but everything is 100% useful!

Here’s a look into what the kit now includes:

  • Dental floss
  • Breath freshener
  • Hair spray
  • Deodorant wipe
  • Nail polish remover pad
  • Nail file
  • Clear nail polish
  • Clear elastics
  • Bobby pins
  • Double sided tape
  • Bandaid
  • Pain reliever
  • Antacid
  • Stain remover!
  • Facial tissue
  • Mini blotting tissues
  • Mending kit (needle, different colored threads, button, safety pin)
  • Earring backs
  • Extra wedding bands, haha!
  • Tampon
  • (My kit also included lip balm)

Making the Most of Your Kit

One of my philosophies for how I take care of my brides before, during, and after their wedding day is to make the experience as stress-free as possible. Michael and I carry around our wedding day emergency kits for our Stormy Brides and Grooms, just in case! On our wedding day, we used the needle and thread (someone had ripped dress pants, haha), the face towelette (my eyeliner smeared under my eyes), and the breath freshener. Even if you don’t end up using everything in your kit, you never know if a fellow bridesmaid will need something, for example. Nothing can stop you from using this kit when you attend weddings and events in the future, too!

If you’re thinking “how will I carry this around all day,” then here are some ideas: A wedding day kit can be carried around by your maid of honor, one of your mothers, or anyone who is willing to add the kit to their bag and will be near you for the majority of the day. Personally, I kept my kit in a little purse that my grandma crocheted for me and one of my bridesmaids was asked to hold onto that bag with the kit and my phone until the reception. After that, I just kept the bag at our sweetheart table. Easy peasy!
