Today’s autumn engagement session at Gold Creek Pond is one of my new favorites! Not only is Gold Creek Pond one of my most popular locations for that “PNW vibe,” but saying that Michael and I had the greatest time with Cathy and Thai is an understatement! Have you ever met someone for the first time and just “clicked?” That’s how it felt from my first Zoom coffee date with Cathy. Seriously, we could talk and laugh for hours together while our more introverted significant others probably think we have way too much energy.
Synopsis of Cathy + Thai’s Love Story
Cathy and Thai’s parents are long time friends, but it wasn’t until 2019 that the stars aligned and these two finally met. Cathy was on a trip in Europe at the time and decided to surprise her family by flying to town for her niece’s 1st birthday party. Little did she know that her mom invited Thai to the party to meet their family. After meeting, Cathy and Thai spent the next week together exploring beaches all over L.A. together. Even more romantic, Cathy and Thai continued to explore beaches together, which made Thai’s proposal at Edmonds Marina an extra thoughtful surprise! Although their relationship has been long distance, seeing these two together and light up in each other’s company is an obvious predictor of their happy marriage together.
Their Autumn Engagement Session at Gold Creek Pond
After putting thought into the perfect location for their engagement photos, Cathy and Thai decided on Gold Creek Pond in Snoqualmie. Michael and I arrived to the parking lot and were immediately flattered when Cathy and Thai surprised me with flowers to congratulate me on becoming an aunt that same day! Isn’t that the sweetest thing?!?! Their whole session didn’t feel like work at all because of how much we adore Cathy and Thai. It felt effortless to capture the unique love these two share.
