Today’s SP Blog post features Jessica + Nick’s Leavenworth Wedding from last Saturday. If you haven’t seen their sunrise engagement photos, do yourself a favor and check that out here. Jessica + Nick have one of those love stories where they met years ago and reconnected only to fall in love and ultimately, decide to share the rest of their lives together as husband and wife. That journey leads us to their beautiful wedding day…
Stormy and I don’t find ourselves in Leavenworth often, or ever really, so we were excited to make the trek. With the Wenatchee River in the backyard, trees, and an apple orchard surrounding the property, this cabin was the most serene location for a wedding. From the moment we stepped on the property, we were treated like family. The day started out with toasts of scotch with the groomsmen downstairs and the ladies helping each other with the final touches for their makeup.
The private ceremony took place under a beautiful birch tree arbor. Some of our favorite parts of the ceremony were the many quiet moments of prayer. Before the precessional, the men in wedding party had a private huddle. The ceremony also had two moments of quiet prayer for the couple. In these silent moments, the sounds of nature fluttered to the forefront of our senses. The birds chirped, the river surged and, most importantly, the guests noticed those moments. We often forget the serenity of nature and the importance of taking a moment. Especially during a wedding day, everything happens so fast and we can get caught up in everything we need to do. For Jessica + Nick, this was not a problem. They both were able to take time for themselves during and after their ceremony.
We ended the night with s’mores by the fire surrounded by Jessica + Nick’s family and friends. Jessica + Nick, you two are so awesome. Stormy and I both appreciated how welcoming you and your family are. With such amazing and warm people in your lives, we have no doubt you will have equally amazing lives together. We feel privileged that we spent your wedding day with you.
All my best,
