Kelsie + Dylan | Sanders Estate Wedding

I’m ecstatic to be sharing Kelsie + Dylan’s Sanders Estate wedding from Sunday! If you haven’t had the chance to see their engagement session, then you can find it here. I absolutely adore Kelsie + Dylan and seeing how happy and in love they are at both their engagement session and wedding was truly infectious.

Getting Ready

I want to start out by saying how pumped I was when Kelsie went with my idea to bring confetti poppers for her getting ready photos. I mean, if you’ve already got your girls in matching robes, then why not make those photos EVEN CUTER with confetti?!? Not only is this addition great for photos, but the candid reactions are adorable and hard to beat. Party City is a great place to find these. I definitely do not recommend substituting glitter since it’s difficult to clean and we’ve got to love our Mother Earth!

Ceremony

Fast forward to the ceremony: the Sanders Estate is a stunning wedding venue. It has a beautiful outdoor corridor covered by romantic vines and greenery. The entire venue was surrounded by trees, which made for a more intimate feel once guests started to arrive. Kelsie walked down the aisle with her father and before she was even close to her guests, Dylan had the most sweet and pure reaction. Seeing his tears made me tear up behind my camera and moments like this are why I love photographing weddings. Capturing these memories is such a gift and a privilege. I’m not entirely surprised by his reaction, though. If you’ve seen the way he looks at Kelsie, then you’ll see what I mean.

Reception

The tears didn’t end at the ceremony. After dinner and husband and wife portraits at the venue’s pond with their swan, Curtis, toasts started. Kelsie’s father was one of the last people to give a toast and WOW! Not only did we catch him getting teary-eyed at the ceremony, but before he even said a word of his toast, he looked at Kelsie and the moment they had caused them both to have tears streaming down their faces. I’m even tearing up as I write this because I think back to my own wedding and how my father (who NEVER cries) cried during his toast. That memory mixed in with how happy I was for my sweet bride, Kelsie, was a double whammy for waterworks. Don’t even get me started on the first dance and parent dances. Kelsie + Dylan sang their wedding song to each other and it was incredibly romantic to watch. The way they danced was like they were completely alone despite all eyes on them.

The wedding ended with a fun sparkler exit and more importantly, a new friendship. Kelsie + Dylan, it was an absolute honor to photograph your wedding day, but my favorite thing about your wedding is how we all became friends. Getting to know you both in a relatively short amount of time puts no doubt in my mind how wonderful you both are as people and that you two are going to have such a beautiful marriage together <3

All my love,

SP
