Today on the SP Blog, we’re taking you back to Clark Lake for a golden and dreamy family session! Melinda and I actually went to college together at UW. Once upon a time, I used to be a dance major and we met while taking ballet technique classes together. One of the special things about being a family photographer for a friend is seeing photos online of their family and then actually getting to meet their family! On top of all of that, seeing Melinda post online about her engagement to Kelen this year and getting to meet him and his family was extra special to me. Their wedding is coming up this summer and you won’t want to miss the photos of this super photogenic family! (Stay tuned :))
Clark Lake Park Family Session
I normally find myself photographing families with children under the age of six. Mixing together younger kids AND older kiddos was a fun and refreshing experience for this family session! It’s not very often that I get to be around kids, in general, so family sessions are always exciting for me. Our little guy in this family was not into having his photo taken and I’m not going to lie– I love that challenge. I always have treats for little ones because who doesn’t like to bribe children when you get a cute smile in return? My philosophy is that family sessions are much more enjoyable when the photographer remembers what it was like to be that age and makes the experience fun! Now for Melinda and Kelen, they deserve their own shoutout for getting themselves and FIVE kids ready for photos and then keeping their little guy happy in the cold weather! Seriously though, this happy family looks picture perfect and coordinated their outfits perfectly.
I hope you enjoy these adorable family photos as much as I loved taking them! Happy scrolling <3
XOXO,
SP
