Gold Creek Pond Bridal Session | Morgan + Brendan

Are you ready to see some STUNNING photos from Morgan + Brendan’s Gold Creek Pond bridal session?!?! Morgan seriously picked the most beautiful location to do her bride and groom portraits the day before their wedding. It’s hard for me to complain about the freezing weather when there are beautiful snow capped mountains in the background and I have such great company! These photos were SO worth braving the cold!

What is a Bridal Session?

Taking a step back, what is a bridal session? Bridal sessions are very popular in the southern states and typically involve just a bride. Before her wedding day the bride will put on her wedding dress, do her hair and makeup trial, and order a smaller version of her wedding bouquet for additional bridal portraits to display at her wedding and get an idea of what she will look like on her wedding day. Despite the name, bridal sessions aren’t limited to just photos of the bride. Couples like Morgan + Brendan use bridal sessions to document their first look and the bulk of their bride and groom portraits in an especially relaxed environment before their wedding day.

Gold Creek Pond Bridal Session

When Morgan and I were planning her bridal session, Morgan wanted to highlight the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and Gold Creek Pond was the perfect location. Both of us were very excited by the idea of doing these photos in the snow and I’m so happy we got the chance! I would say the only tricky part of doing the bridal session in the snow was that in order to avoid getting Morgan’s wedding dress dirty, I brought along my trusty clear shower curtain and that made it so she couldn’t move her feet for these photos. Challenge accepted.

Because of the situation, we saved almost all of the movement photos for Morgan and Brendan’s husband and wife portraits on their wedding day, and I’ve gotta say that these two were the most effortlessly candid couple that I’ve ever photographed! Whenever I told them they could relax while I had to change a lens or make an adjustment, they shared the sweetest moments together and I couldn’t resist sneaking in those shots, too.

I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from this Gold Creek Pond bridal session, and don’t forget to check out the moments from their wedding day on the SP Blog, too!

XOXO,
